Kiev Planetarium selebrates 65 anniversary

Today Kiev Planetarium celebrates 65 anniversary!!!


Kiev Planetarium is the biggest planetarium in Ukraine and one of the biggest in Europe, with dome diameter 23 m and 320 sits.


It was opened to the public in 1952 in the building of the old Catholic cathedral (It was common practice in the USSR to do so).


In 1987 it moved to the new purpose-built building with new planetarium projector Zeiss Mark IV. Now, after 30 years it is still operating.


In 2012 Planetarium went digital with project Atmasfera 360°.


In 2016 It was reconstructed and equipped with Front Pictures X12 digital planetarium system.
